Recycled Fashion: A Consignment Discovery

I found a true gem of a consignment shop today. California-headquarted Crossroads Trading Co., a recycled fashion retailer since 1991, opened its 31st location in NYC on 26th Street snuggled between Broadway and 6th Avenue. The store opened its doors this past Valentine’s Day, which couldn’t have been more appropriate since its certainly a place to fall in love with!

The store carries a range of designers and retailers, including Alice + Olivia, BCBG Max Azria and Rag and Bone to name a few, as well as never-used items. One of the most attractive aspects of this place is the prices, some of the lowest I’ve seen in any NYC consignment. But clothing quality is certainly not sacrificed here! I found a classy, work-friendly tweed Zara dress (below) for under $20 and immediately thought I was dreaming. The shop is easy to navigate because it’s arranged by color and style, and the salespeople are incredibly friendly and helpful. One tip: explore the whole store–I walked in thinking the front was the only women’s section to later discover they had much more to offer towards the back of the store.

The company also does its part for the environment, making a charitable donation every time a customer brings their own shopping bags or reusable totes!

I will be making a trip back to CT Co. very soon — welcome to the neighborhood!
